Hello to everyone.

I have a question about obtaining Non Immigration 'O' visa.

I'm 31 years old from Poland. Living in Thailand for 4 years. Not married but have daughter. Not working in Thailand.

Want to know if my daughter Birth Certificate is enough to apply for Non Imm visa and if not what documents I need to collect before going to Thai Embassy. Next month I'll fly to Japan and want to apply there. Called Tokyo Embassy already but they can't tell me anything specific.

Thanks for any advise.

It is really up to the consulate where you apply. Most consulates give a non-O visa for visiting family in your circumstances. Ideally, you should apply in your home country but seeing that you fly to Japan in a week it may be too late for this now.

Tanks for answer.

I'm a bit confused. Thai Embassy in Tokyo informed me that birth certificate might be not enough. So I called Immigration three times in one day. Every time they gave me different answer. Two times that I can and one time absolutely not. Need marriage certificate. Problem's we want to wait with marriage till next year.

I know applying in my home country is best solution and if sure they will give me Non Imm. visa there. Will go. But right now have to go Japan for some time and it will be perfect to come back with right visa.

In fact I can't even get info about which documents need to take with me. Don't want to be surprised far away from home.

Anyway, thank You.

I hope can help,

I got a Non Imm O in Savannaket Laos, about 2 weeks ago, same conditions I am 33 years old not married with child,

I went with this documents:

Passport,

Photos

Child Birth certificate(where says I am the father)

tabbien ban( mother with child also)

I.D. of the mother.

Bank book showing about 250.000( and many money transfer to it from abroad)( I dont know if needed but they took it)

letter of the bank where in details explains wich are the money coming from abroad.( I dont know if needed, but they took it)

if you have contracts from a company abroad where show some corrispondence with the money coming to your bank account.( i dont know if needed but they took it)

With this documents I once extended( 2 more months), a 3 months Non imm B.( i spend about 6 hours in the immigration office, nobody wanted to get the responsability to do something new) but they did in the end. I speak very good Thai and from informations in thaivisa I knew you can extend a visa for extra 2 months, if you have a child.( So I just keep talking and wait untill somebody got out a book with all the visas requirements and fount the one for me.

The Non Imm O, also needed a lot of talking, but also there is a written Law about it, so they gave me the Visa, but told me to don't come back.

Main questions was:

1) why your child and mother are not here with you?

1) my answer ( because the baby is young and is not safe to do long travels) true

2) Why you dont get married?

2) my answer ( I am waiting some documents coming from my country, and they are late)

some others, but not importants or relavant with the visa.

I would say, If is possible bring all the papers copy and originals, the copies signed also from your girlfriend.

I hope helps

So I called Immigration three times in one day.

The Immigration Bureau cannot give you any useful information regarding the issuance of a visa by a Thai consulate.

I know for a fact that Immigration can give a 2 month extension to a 3 month non imm O as they offered to do this for me till I explained I was 50 and supporting a child! I understand this is give without the need for a salary and you can then leave and get a new Non imm O and get an extension again.

This is 5 month without leaving the country! Not to bad really.
