TR60 to Covid extension - Chonburi

Featured Replies

The short of it:

For anyone who may be here on a TR60 (Single Entry Tourist Visa) wondering if they can get a "Covid" extension, you can.

The long of it:

I arrived from Canada in December with a TR60, did the full quarantine in Bangkok, purchased the insurance etc for the Cof E, towards the end of my 60 days I extended my Visa a further 30 days as is allowed for this visa type,  and close to the end of those final 30 days I  then applied for the Covid extension.

Today I received my Covid extension (60 days) which will take me to 150 days from the date of my arrival.

Notes:

I have been staying in Chonburi and have been using the Chonburi Immigration Office in Jomtien.

I was told that I can go back one week before this Covid extension expires and apply again!  (That was volunteered information I did not ask.)

When I went for my first extension to my TR60 I was told to apply for the extension my TR60 allowed of 30 days before applying for any 60 day Covid extension.

You will not lose/gain any days by applying early or late, they will extend your Visa from the date of your arrival regardless.

There was no questions asked.  When I first applied it took maybe 15 minutes to drop off my passport with the forms, they told me to come back two weeks later.  I came back and they took my passport, a couple more photocopies and gave me a number and told me to come back 10am the next morning.  The next morning I didn't even enter the building the girl at the front door took my number and came back with my passport and told me I can apply again one week before this one expires.  Took all of five minutes.

I have been dealing with Immigration in Thailand for 10 years (mostly Bangkok) and I have to say this is by far the easiest and most  straightforward experience I have ever encountered.  This Jomtien Office is awesome.
