Atrial Fibrillation

I've recently been diagnosed with Afib (irregular, sometimes rapid heartbeat). The doc has put me on a course of medications and recommended some lifestyle changes which I will follow. Just wondering if anyone else on the forum has it and what they've done about it.  Also wondering if anyone has had catheter ablation treatment. If so where, and how did it work out? (I'm in Bangkok.)

dekestone, I am in the UK and not in Thailand until later in the year.

 

I first got AF after a hip operation then 2 long Thailand flights with DVT.

I was put on Warfarin and that worked well, it got to going to outpatients in hospitakl about once every 3 months for a reading.

I asked my GP about the new range of tablets and he put me on Apixaban, it seems to work OK and I do not have to keep going to hospital for blood readings.

Many TV members have AF and a few have had ablations.

Thanks, Sheryl. I did do a search before my original posting but I'm obviously doing something wrong because i got zero results. You're links were very helpful.
