Hey anyone know of a dentist that does crown work and you can recommend? For both price and quality work! Recent work not more than 5 years ago

 

 

My wife  just had  two  teeth done at  St Marys private hospital    in Korat,, total cost  (for a Thai that is)  25,500 baht.    I realise  Korat  not of use to you, but price  might give you indication.     By the way  the entire procedure was done over 4 visits.

Recently had 2 ceramic crowns done at Hollywood Dental Soi Lengee, 20,000 baht. Excellent work and finish, 3 or 4 visits. Had the option of 2 metal crowns for 14,000.

For Dental work in Pattaya google Dr Warin on Pattaya klang.....non better for the price here IMHO.

Slightly off topic, but i had a broken tooth with pain,  i visited several local  Dentists who said it needs to  be  pulled out,  having  3 pulled out in the last 10 years  i kept searching hoping for a better  option,    finally at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital  the Dentist said no need to be pulled out   they can Root Canal,  and crown it  which has now been done, and happy with the work...

Thanks for the replies so far. This topic is not for me personally but a friend who needs 5 crowns. He has not chosen a dentist as of yet.

Very ferw dentists in Pattaya will attempt root canal. Even Dr Warin advised me to go to BPH for root canal. BPH has a large state of the art dentistry department and is undoubtedly the best place to go for any dentistry work......if you can afford it. My root canal surgery cost me slightly more than it did in the UK.

Dr. Warin did a root canal for me already and he has been my number one dentist here in Pattaya for very many years. He is also famous for implants. I visited the Pattaya Bangkok Hospital for a crown before I knew Dr. Warin. Was expensive and not a good experience.

Khun Warin advised me to have my root canal at BPH as he wasn't qualified to do the procedure. I had an excellent experience at BPH.

I had one done there too, I would say competently. It was certainly not pleasant though, and the word 'excellent' would not spring to mind. I cut the cost by having the subsequent crown done at my regular dentist.

I have had several vists to the dental department at bangkok pattaya hospital,  as well as  regular dentists  around pattaya i see no difference regarding state of the art  dentistry at the hospital , only because i take blood thinning pills, meaning i will bleed  quicker than normal, did i go to  bangkok pattaya..

The dentist in the immigration soi is great, I have had 2 crowns done there and a whole lot cheaper than the private hospitals. Its 2 brothers I think, just a normal well priced dentist doing crowns, implants etc, your not paying for the glamorous clinic or a clinic that specialises in cosmetic dentistry or tourists.

For crowns, I prefer going to a place that does same day crowns on site.  So no temp crown and no multiple visits.  I think German Dental on the hill towards Jomtien does that.  Or you can go to a dental hospital in Bangkok.

6 months ago I had a rear tooth crown done at Smile dentist in Pattaya Klang. Didn't have an appointment just walked in. They did a top class job. Total cost was 8k BHT. I didn't think that was to bad. Now the big thing have I had any problems well no. They also speak good English.

I use Mahidol University medical hospotal for my implants. Just have one inplant done a week ago. Get the stiched out in a couple of weeks. The main difference I see is that they link up the x-ray department with the dentist. So he can view my xrays on a computer screen. It's much better for viewing detail on the film. But I've also had good crown work at local private dentists as well. Prices vary, especially die to the crown material used. 

Worth getting a second opinion upon whether the work is necessary IMHO. A local general dentist (not Pattaya) told me filling not possible. Options were either root canal, post and crown or extraction. She didn't do root canals so referred me to a specialist friend in the next town. He decided that a filling was possible. I went with that. 1,900 baht against 14,000 as estimated. Six months ago and OK to date.

Oh Ok,  then you can understand that  i have'nt been in a U.K.  dentists chair for a very long time  Lol

I had many teeth crowned in Pattaya 11 years ago when I first came to Thailand, have now lost nearly all those teeth due to decay getting under the crowns, and it wasn't due to lack of flossing, brushing etc. You usually don't find out you have a problem until it's too late and the tooth has to be extracted.

Very valid and helpful information thanks. I had several crowns in the mid-seventies. Subsequent dentists warned me that although the work (gold) appears good, they can't tell what is going on underneath because X-Ray's appear opaque.  Had a good run because only one crowned tooth has required extraction due to decay.
