thecyclist
Dropped my Huawei nova phone, which landed bang on the screen.Miraculously the screen didn't crack, but is prodruding now. When I press it down it doesn't lock, but comes back up as soon as pressure is released. Can I get a new case or can it be glued together?

Both myself and a mate (him Huawei P9(?)) me with a Huawei Honor 6 both had a similar problem, although not as a result of a drop. Investigation led us (him really) to the battery being prone to swelling and forcing the screen outwards. We both had the batteries replaced within the last week and both our screens now sit flush. Both batteries removed were visibly swollen. Mine was 650 baht to replace, his was 700 baht.
nrasmussen
Yes, most likely due to a swollen battery. Get it replaced as soon as possible!
thecyclist
Kind of doubt it's a swollen battery. This battery seems to be as good as new. Haven't noticed any difference in the time a fully charged battery lasts. Had batteries of my old Asus phone replaced twice (although not in Thailand, I moved to Vietnam) and the replacement batteries sucked. With a swollen battery you would probably not be able to press the screen down all the way with ease. Although I went to a repair shop here today and the guy immediately, without opening it up and taking a look, suggested putting in a new battery, which most likely drain 5 times as fast as the old one. nrasmussen
Yes, counterfeit batteries are definitely a problem to be aware of. I have had swollen batteries twice with Samsung phones. Both times I took them to an official Samsung service center for replacement in order to be sure to get genuine batteries.

I could with mine - there must be give in the other components around it - but it just sprang apart again when released. I didn't notice any loss in performance even though my battery was definitely on the way out.

Similar to my Huawei Nova 2i, battery was pushing the screen away from the back and light was coming out of the side. Also 650 baht for a replacement at MBK late last year.
