I have my retirement account (800,000 baht) at my local Bangkok Bank branch here in Chiang Mai. I had to go in to request 12 months of statements for immigration to extend my visa. I was told that they had to send the request to Bangkok and that it would take a week.

I'm just curious if anyone knows a reason that it takes a major, international bank a week to produce a years worth of monthly statements - other than TIT. Also, why do they have to send the request to Bangkok from Chiang Mai? I'm sure they have an internet connection.

Not a complaint. Just curious.

can't you just update your bankbook?

I thought so but immigration wanted the updated bankbook and the 12 statements.
