She says it's totally dead, even the 7-Elevens and Family Marts are closed apparently. She booked a ticket to Samui to go and see her friends, hoping that she'd find her a job, I showed her some of the YouTube videos and she cancelled it. At the moment no bars are serving alcohol, so in general it's the same as not open, so also no bars open in Lamai. Last I was there, Lamai Beach was almost as dead as Chaweng, which was, and still is, almost as dead a Dodo. However, if you stay by the Ring Road there are quite a bit of life, but that's not where the girlie-bars are, if that's what you are looking for. gearbox Posted May 17, 2021 Share Posted May 17, 2021 I don't go often to Lamai, but since I came back early Feb many more businesses have closed everywhere on the island. People are starting to lose hope the things are going to get better soon. I went to Surat Thani late April, pretty much there was not a single foreigner to be seen on the ferries.
