using usa paypal account with thai phone number

Featured Replies

i want to close my paypal account and send any remaining paypal funds to my Bank of America bank account.

but, as i'm in thailand, i can't use my old usa phone number for text message verification.

my thai phone number doesn't get international coverage.

however, my thai wife says her phone number gets international coverage.

can i use her phone number for paypal text verification?

or would that trigger some kind of alarm and possibly suspend my paypal account?

also, if paypal triggers an alarm could that also extend to freeze the Bank of America account that I've linked to my paypal?

Hi, I'm not sure about Paypal US but I have a Paypal UK account and I linked that to my Thai phone number no problem. Paypal sends me a verification code via SMS every time I log in so I'm assuming that Paypal US will work the same but I don't know.

When you were changing to the Thai number, did Paypal send an SMS to your UK number to confirm? (That could be tricky...)

Why not just spend it and have done with it.

No I hadn't set up 2FA with another number before, my Thai number was the first, so I don't know about changing numbers, sorry. Before that, I'd only used email/password to access my account.
