PHUKET: Phuket people who leave the province and return now face having to undergo a rapid antigen test to return home if they are unable to prove they are fully vaccinated or present a COVID-free certificate issued within 72 hours of arriving.

The news was announced by Phuket Vice Governor Pichet Panapong yesterday (Apr 24), with the official order posted online just after midnight (at 12:15am) last night.

The official order, signed by Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew, is marked to remain in effect until at least Apr 30.

I find it amazing that they have been testing people but perhaps not testing everyone.

Surely they have already been testing everyone who enters the province regardless of where their permanent address is?

If that is not the case then they have been wasting everyones time.

Phuket people leaving the province and returning now face rapid test requirement.

While 72 hours is a small window it's still plenty of time to get infected before arriving in Phuket?

ie... even on the journey to get there.

I think all people arriving regardless should be tested.
