allforbob Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 On the past, Bangkok Bank would deposit my American Tax refund check with 2 days or less. Now I am told it could take up to 45 days. Is anyone else having this problem?
Seligne2 Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 I deposited a US cheque at Kasikorn and was told it would take 60 days to be credited.
allforbob Posted April 28, 2021 Author Posted April 28, 2021 Okay. Thanks. Things have really changed over the years
Brierley Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Because of FATCA there are Thai banks who wont even handle any transactions that involve US banks UOB being one. CIMB two years ago quoted 30 days to collect on a tax refund check, 45 days seems normal.
allforbob Posted April 28, 2021 Author Posted April 28, 2021 Thank you. I'll wait and see what they say after 45 days.
shortstop2 Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 I deposited my stimulus check at Krungsri . It took a couple of weeks although they said it would be longer. The fee was lower at Krungsri than at Bangkok Bank where I also have an account.
