The man who is accused of killing Norwegian Nerid Høiness in Laos last year is according to reports still free in Thailand and former Norwegian Minister of Justice Per-Willy Amundsen wants a Norwegian boycott of the holiday country, local media Dagbladet reports.

According to a recent article published in Dagbladet, the media reports that 30-year-old Nerid Høiness and her 38-year-old Japanese boyfriend Hiroyuki Ogu last year in January went on a motorcycle trip from the holiday island of Koh Phangan in Thailand to Vang Vieng in Laos where Nerid Høiness was reportedly abused and beaten to death.

Dagbladet states that several witnesses have explained to the police in Laos that they had heard screams from the room the couple rented at the hotel for several days.

Perhaps they should deploy the fleet of 'Smart BMWs' to catch him.

We have 1000's of police dedicated to arresting foreigners and potentially putting them in prison for what amounts to a misdemeanor (overstay) yet they allow someone like this (also a foreigner) to remain free.

I wonder how wealthy this guy is.

It's not just this guy they are letting run free. They have been letting out prisoners that have murdered farrang after only a few years lately.

Great that a senior public figure from Norway  tells people 'Dont go to Thailand " .. pretty difficult anyway unless you want to spend time in quarantine

According to a recent TAT? news release, half of Norway have booked Thailand holidays for winter 2021.

Haha. I'm sure TAT underestimated.. Norway will only have a couple thousand folk left when the majority go Thailand.  Hahaahah

Rattling the cage bars to try and get some justice... best of luck with that.

This is a photo of him from just a few month ago roaming freely around on Koh Phangan. You judge, does this guy look wealthy to you?

"The former Minister of Justice believes the authorities in Thailand will react quickly if Norwegians stop traveling to Thailand"

How self-important and entitled can people get? For one, as the article says, there will not be a travel advisory for a single case (that happened in Laos, in the first place...), and how many Norwegians are currently traveling to Thailand? Like 5 per month??

"...the police in Thailand have been made aware of his whereabouts several times" - seriously? I don't even want to start to say anything favorable about the BiB, but with a name and an Interpol warrant, if police were given information about his whereabouts several times (relevant information, not "my cousin who walked the neighbors dog saw someone who looked just like him"), he'd be simmering in Bangkok Hilton by now. Something doesn't quite add up here.

Actually, yes.

He looks like the son of a wealthy family who are glad to pay him to stay far away from home.

Those are not yakuza gang tattoos, those are F-you parents tattoos on him, and no poor, working class or white collar person would ever be able to find a job in Japan with ink on their bodies like that.

Just the police following their usual modus operandi, which is to do nothing. They might send out a Facebook message perhaps, asking him to pop into his nearest police station if he has the time.

Really? Who?

Do some research.....

The linked Norwegian media article indicates there's already an Interpol Red Notice issued for this guy.

With him being allegedly in Thailand at the moment, that's the problem right there.

"Now the former Minister of Justice and current member of the Storting’s Justice Committee Per-Willy Amundsen (Frp) has had enough. To Dagbladet, he says, “It is a complete scandal that the man who abused and killed Nerid Høiness has not been arrested and brought to justice”."

Eye-roll, shrugzies - Red Bull Heir - still free.
"Geez Willy!  What part have you played in capturing a high-profile Red Notice from Thailand?  Keep you eye's peeled during the
Norwegian Grand Prix do ya?

Commoner criminals!  "Must Be Punished!"
Elites criminals... <Justice dons a blindfold or just looks the other way.> "Must be given $$$ asylum $$$!"

I've had some friends who parents were extremely wealthy and powerful.
You'll make a mistake if you judge a kid's inherited, trust-fund wealth by looking at their tats, body piercing and hair-cuts.  Every rich family tend to have their black-sheep of the family.  They tend to take long vacations away from home.

Yes, this is the Thailand MO. And, all Thais know it. They know that murdering a foreigner -- especially a westerner -- has very little consequence. The few who are imprisoned are quietly let out after a very short period of time, and of course the Thai media would not dare do any follow ups.

There are only a couple countries that understand how to make Thais weary of targeting their nationals. China is the biggest. Thais will generally not mess with Chinese because China protects their people aggressively (as much as I hate that country). Japan also leverages their business dealings in Thailand to protect Japanese nationals.

All the western countries toss their nationals to the wolves. Virtually no protection at all. Consequences of individualist societies.

What do her tats say about her. Go to SE Asia and live like their is no tomorrow.

"30 year old Norwegian Nerid Høiness was found dead in the jungle of Vang Vieng, Laos. Killed by her japanese boyfriend "Ogu Hiroyuki" whom she met on the trip. She was traveling around along in south Asia learning to become a yoga-guru."

Money is not needed you just have to be Asian to get away with killing white people in South East Asia. It is pure racism.

Interesting that people heard screams and no person investigated, seen strapping a body to a bike, and no one interferes or investigates.
