BANGKOK (NNT) - Pfizer has confirmed on Wednesday that its vaccine had not yet been imported into Thailand, adding that it is still in talks with Thailand’s Public Health Ministry over a deal to purchase the vaccine.

Pfizer made the announcement after the COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker website listed Thailand as one of the countries which had approved their vaccine. The vaccine producer also stated that it will only sell its products to governments and government entities.

The Thai government is seeking to procure 5-10 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine, as part of its plan to provide 100 million shots to inoculate 50 million people by the end of this year.

Meanwhile, the Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that no Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine has been imported by Thailand, and the FDA is yet to approve it.

The barn's door were left wide open and all the horses has bolted and they are " still in talks" and i can't believe for one moment that some elements of the Hi-So and the well connected didn't get the Pfizer vaccine privately brought in no matter what any government official says...

Can somebody please tell Pfizer how business is done in Thailand ?

They already know..hence the delays.

Waiting for the large brown paper bags to be filled to the brim

Not "imported" but made it to the US embassy in Bangkok for their staff.

Quite plausible proof seen at Richard Barrow's Twitter.

And I have little doubt that Mr. T. is correct about BioNTech/Pfizer supplied to certain VIPs.

Nothing on the Pfizer website about this and I couldn’t find anywhere on that NNT website that Pfizer has made such a statement.

Looks like the PM has missed the boat yet again,     it's only a few weeks ago that that Anutin had invited Covid-19 manufacturers to apply to sell to Thailand, and thinking they would come rushing to sell,  well Mr Anutin welcome to the real world....

Hold it wait!  Vaccine tracker said Pfizer has been approved in Thailand then at the end it hasn't been approved by the FDA?  ???? what's missing?????

Thailand cant afford this drug. The special handling alone cost more then the drug itself. It has to be kept at -70 on airplane. Not every airplane has that capability. Moderna would be cheaper and  just as good as Pfizer

Any aircraft can transport the vaccine, it's the way it is packed for shipping, not the aircraft capabilities.

Any aircraft? dont think so. Moderma would still be cheaper. Still doesn't need the special handling Pfizer gets. In other words Pfizer is more expensive
