Nearly 12 tons of counterfeit alcohol destroyed by Ministry of Commerce officials following market crackdown

Featured Replies

Officials from the General Department of PPR detected nearly 12 tons of counterfeit alcohol or methanol and destroyed it at a landfill in Phnom Penh’s Dangkor district.

The destruction of the fake alcohol was organized with the approval of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court and with the participation of Dangkor district administration officials.

These methanol substances were confiscated from warehouses and were meant to be distributed to pharmacies in Phnom Penh. Alcohol, or ethanol, is a substance that is used to kill germs, especially at a time when Covid-19 is rampant.
