BANGKOK (NNT) - The Deputy Minister of Public Health has accompanied a team from the World Health Organization (WHO) in viewing treatment of COVID-19 patients at the Princess Mother National Institute on Drug Abuse Treatment, garnering commendation of Thai physicians.

Deputy Minister of Public Health Sathit Pitutecha, led Director of the WHO Thailand Emergency Public Health and Drug Resistant Viruses Project Dr. Richard Brown, to view and draw lessons from the Princess Mother National Institute on Drug Abuse Treatment’s handling of COVID-19 patients in Lamlukka district of Pathumthani province.

Sathit explained that the institute established a cohort ward for the care of COVID-19 patients on April 10, supplying 34 beds for Yellow level patients in need of respiratory assistance. On April 22, it created an Extended Ward to make another 200 beds available and began accepting patients from the 1668, 1669 and 1330 hotlines of the Department of Medicine, receiving a total 229 patients. So far, the facility has treated 472 people with 226 still receiving care. Individuals deemed Red level patients, in critical condition, are forwarded to hospitals such as Rajvithi Hospital and Chulalongkorn Hospital.

Dr. Brown commended the work of the Ministry of Public Health and Thai physicians on their emergency response and care for patients, remarking that the WHO views Thailand’s emergency health services as world-class.

Does ANYONE care about WHO ? I thought after the debacle of the "investigation" in Wuhan about the origins of Covid, were the Chinese told them where to go and where not to,would have destroyed all the credibility they ever had.

This will set the complaining whiners off.

The complaining whiners that live in Thailand where they have been safer and far less likely to die than in their own countries, quite a few of which had death rates not double, not triple, but a hundred times plus times worse.

Can they accept the Thais have done a job 100 times better than them?

Nah. It doesn't even register.

This British B117 variant is a nasty variant. It has caused many times more deaths in Thailand than than the other variants. It is a big killer.

But fair to say they are doing a vastly superior job handling the B117 variant with a total of less than 700 dead over a year and a half compared to just one day in the UK where 1800 died. One day.

WHO recognises the outstanding job, I recognise the outstanding job, the only ones that can not are the miserable serial complainers who complain about everything Thai, day after day, but interestingly choose to live in this beautiful country.

Ok, now back to the harping.

This was put out by NNT, the government's public relations department.

My spidey sense can feel a few but but buts coming ????????????????

Some here criticize WHO but also complain about Sinovac not getting WHO approval. Strange dichotomy.

WHO seem to have been ClWHOless throughout the entire pandemic.  No reason to start having accurate insights now.

Anutin had to send an underling as his mouth piece, as he cannot be perceived to be bias toward anything Thailand does because of his role in WHO, as SE Asia,s WHO representative.

Lots of fallacies in your post, so I'll play along whilst I enjoy my coffee.

Many of the "complaining whiners" are from countries where they actually may have been statistically safer than in Thailand, especially given that Thailand is amongst the highest ranking countries for foreigner unnatural deaths. And anyway, you'd need to provide some statistics to back up your assertion.

No, we will not accept the Thais have done "100 times better than" us because there is no basis on which to develop such a sentiment. We now see with our bare eyes the absolute mess the Thais are making of the situation, now increasingly unable to hide their incompetence. They are amongst the very worst globally with their vaccine rollout.

You are very good at trolling, by the way. Not sure if you are aware, but the Chinese Communist Party would likely pay you a decent little side packet if you are willing to troll for them - telling the world how much better China is than the rest of the world.

Have you even been outside? Is not Thailand gov that has made infection less.. Is living like a hermit in a cage that is being done by most thais and foreigners. Everytime the gov has done something it's made cases increase. And who can believe the infection rate remains constant within a few hundred unless this is just based on percentage tested within the population. Surely you have seen every country in the world have increases whej clusters are found. For all we know, there are 100s of thousand infected already. How to know this. Even in their prison system it took a few to learn there were thousand infected. Then their mismanagement even in notifying pattaya their vaccines were never sent. And now in the news. I am reading Thailand already has received 6 million doses yet where are they? Surely not being administered to the public yet. I am not saying Thailand has not done a good job in dealing with this virus. But surely it is not the gov who has been responsible for this happening. The thai people are more afraid of getting infected and are taking their own actions to stay safe. They don't even trust the gov from what I am told. Seems maybe you are wanting to promote the gov without seeking or knowing anything about this situation. Give credit where credit is due. The thai people should be given this. Not the Thai government for their handling the crises that they created!
