By now surely everybody knows that's an out and out lie.   Why not tell the truth? Why not explain the side effects and risks clearly, provide stats of those and the number of fatalities tha

Of course he is promoting them, the more people listening to his BS, the more his off shore accounts grow.

Didn't Prayut chicken out of the Sinovac vaccine?

If he's scared of it, wouldn't every other Thai follow their leader?

Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha is promoting public confidence in the Sinovac and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines, the two brands currently being administered in Thailand

The only two available and even he ducked the first one.

Sure he would. No other option.

Don't believe for one minute he took the AZ vaccine when he all the opportunity in the world to use the better one, and goes for his family too... zero trust in them people any longer...

Salty water he took..

Don't get your hopes up kiddies.  Uncle Tu and friends will only allow you to have the vaccines of the people whose financial interests they protect.  Yeah, a few off-brands will slip though for a significant price tag for the Hi-So, but commoners?

I am unaware of any fatalities from the 3 million vaccinations in Thailand.

Does Thailand have a vaccine adverse reaction database that if viewable by the public?  My educated guess is not.
So instead check out the vaccine adverse reaction databases in the US, EU, and UK.  They tell stories that include post-vaccination fatalities.  These vaccinations require informed consent although people are only told that esteemed leaders have "confidence in the vaccine’s efficacy and safety" many Thais don't buy it.  What people are being told is to shut their brains off and submit.  Nothing else will do.  But Thais do see the conflicts of interest and the profit motives behind the locally distributed vaccines, and they listen to global news so a large percentage understand the risks.
I thinks it's a moot point.  I expect at the end of the day all people within Thailand's borders will be required to get a shot or go to prison.  They'll start with a stick and a carrot but will eventually go full authoritarian on the public.

I wonder how many of the TVexperts type their antivax posts having taken Prozac for their depression, Fentinyl for their aches and Valium to get to sleep.

He could also promote confidence by retiring.

I am no fan but who would you suggest become the supreme leader. The cupboard looks bare.

You have already booked yours then?

He took the Astrazenca vaccine again not Sinovac which is the one people have no confidence in.
He should have taken Sinovac like everyone else.

'He took the Astrazenca (sic) vaccine again' because he is over 60 years and could be given the Sinovac as his first one.

...... or at least turned up the get the paper saying they've had the shot.

But that'll be years away, it's already been 6 months since COVID vaccinations arrived, and they've only managed to vaccinate 2% of the population so far. Let's assume they manage to double that speed, that's 8% of the population vaccinated every year ...... 10 years to vaccinate 80% of the population. I'll be dead of old age by the time they get around to me!

Thai officials usually get tired of any pronouncements in under 2 years.

Let's face it vaccinating more than 20% of the population is never likely to happen.

I find marijuana to be effective for all three.

And it also protects me from the worst effect of COVID (fear).

Arrival of the vaccines means arrival of the confidence in the vaccines.

Actually, no country keeps a "vaccine adverse reaction database". What they do keep is a vaccine adverse event database. That may seem like an unimportant distinction to you, but actually the difference is crucial. Anytime one reports any healthy issue arising within a specified time after being inoculated, that report goes into the database. It doesn't mean that the event was due to the vaccination. In fact, when you are inoculating hundreds of thousands of people, you are going to get adverse reports. Even if you just give them sugar pills.

As for Thais' understanding of the issues behind vaccinatin there's this

  • On average, 15-year-olds score 419 points in mathematics compared to an average of 489 points in OECD countries. Girls perform better than boys with a statistically significant difference of 16 points (OECD average: 5 points higher for boys).
  • In Thailand, the average performance in science of 15-year-olds is 426 points, compared to an average of 489 points in OECD countries. Girls perform better than boys with a statistically significant difference of 20 points (OECD average: 2 points higher for girls).

I mean this is a country where the lottery is a national addiction and amulets are widely believed to protect one from automobile accidents. And you're seriously claiming that Thais have a sophisticated understanding of statistics and probability?

Sounding like there are issues delivering AstraZeneca. And we're being told that's somehow good news.

He forgot to add that sometimes death is preferable to the permeant damage that can be done with things that are not fatal.

I read that Europe and maybe UK will not accept the Sinovac certificate for entry purposes.

Maybe they will accept it in due course?

Yup this guy and his gang have had their brown envelopes delivered with

the present vaccines.  That is what I believe, for sure.

Geezer
