Active screening of up to 409 worker housing camps in Bangkok, which accommodate an estimated 62,000 Thai and immigrant construction workers, is to be conducted in an attempt to pre-empt the spread of COVID-19.

This proposal was tabled by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and discussed at the meeting of the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) subcommittee today (Tuesday), said CCSA Assistant Spokesperson Dr. Apisamai Srirangsan.

According to the proposal, the Office of Social Security will be responsible for screening about 50,000 workers and the rest will be done by the BMA’s health office.

Might be a tad late.

I just cant help but look at the Photo in the header.

Those 2 Stairways are to accommodation, 1 of them is not a Fire Escape.

If you reference the Motorbike and Pickup Truck for scale, then these people are living in about a 3 x 3 Meter space.

Is it any wonder that disease is rife in such poor  conditions.

Well that should soak up all current supplies of vaccines. Think our village needs to declare itself a workers dump and borrow an infected immigrant worker to get any priority. Either that or move to Phuket! Same same!
