Pattaya In Late July

Featured Replies

It will have been about 18 months when I come back to Pattaya in late July this year.

Quite by accident I discovered the ThaiVisa Calendar last night. What a handy device.

I noticed there's some important holidays: Asanha Bucha Day Event Date: Saturday 29 July 2007 (Single Day Event) and Khao Phansa Day Event Date: Sunday 30 July 2007 (Single Day Event). This is the start of the Buddhist Lent.

Does that mean that entertainment venues are closed all weekend?

Whenever i have been in Pattaya around that time of year there was always places open (the only time i think that a closure was semi enforced was when the King's mother died in 1995)

However, the thing i ALSO noticed last time i was there around that time of year was that the whole town was like a ghost town at night. Walking Street was devoid of punters after about 11:30, so maybe that has somethibg to do with the places staying open..trying to make what they can, when they can

Lights turn down, and no blaring music. Serve in cups not that they are fooling anyone. I'm not sure about GoGo(s) didnt visit one during this period last year, but all beer bars were open.
