I have tried calling the number that my network provider gives *137#, and cancelled SMS adverts multiple times.

 

However I keep getting spam with a short message in Thai, followed by a bit.ly link to "claim money".

 

I am very careful to not give my mobile number out to advertisers or companies.

 

2 questions:

 

1. Why do I still get the SMS spam even after calling my provider to cancel the SMS spam many times?

 

2. Where are these spammers getting my phone number from, and don't they have anything better to do with their life?
