Permanent Secretary of Thailand’s Public Health Ministry, Dr. Kiattiphum Wongrajit, said today (Tuesday) that this Thursday, 1 million more doses of Sinovac will be imported into Thailand, while there will be more AstraZeneca vaccines coming next Monday (June 14th), but the exact number of doses is yet to be confirmed.

Dr. Kiattiphum also said that 750,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine have been distributed today, as agreed with the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), and there are 500,000 more doses of Sinovac waiting to be approved.

Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Disease Control Department, Dr. Opart Karnkawinpong, advised that both Sinovac and AstraZeneca can be used in people aged 18 and older. He added that there can be 3 months between doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, while Sinovac still requires the doses to be 2 weeks apart.

I refuse to have anything produced in China to be inserted  into my body by whatever means .

The way that they rave about 1m doses, Thailand needs around 140m doses, a slight shortfall methinks.

I went to my local government hospital this morning to register.

I'm retired expat over 60 [just] told to go away as no vaccines available for foreigners yet.

They said they didn't have enough for the local population.

Stop with the Sinovac and get the others here. Stop playing with the AZ vaccine and the production issues, and vaccinate people. The registration apps are also a failure.

You can get Sinovac or AZ. But if you want to wait for "the others," you might be waiting a half a year or so. During that time, how much will Covid spread? Better to get what you can when you can.

These should be here by the end of June and Available immediately.

Combined with the new shipments, the Biden administration aims to send a total of 80 million doses abroad within the next six weeks.

That is good news if "abroad" also includes Thailand to a significant degree and if foreigners are able to get access to Pfizer. I was originally told I could get J&J or Moderna in June by my private hospital doctor. It didn't work out. I just don't want to gamble at this stage not knowing for sure when something will get here. I will and I did take the Sinovac. And will get the other as a sort of booster, I guess, in six or seven months.
