One of the key tourism reliant provinces named in government plans to reopen to vaccinated foreign tourists in October without quarantine is not getting promised vaccine supplies.

Krabi's governor Pol Lt-Col M.L. Kitibadee Prawit said that so far 40,000 doses of vaccine had gone into the arms of tourism workers on Koh Phi Phi, Koh Sai and in the Railai area.

The plan for these areas was to get tourists back on July 1st.

But a second phase of the vaccine rollout is stalling, he told Channel 7.

This was meant to be 120,000 promised doses for workers in Ao Nang, Lanta and Thap Khaek.

The governor said they had received just 9,480 doses.

He expressed fears that the province may not now be able to open to fully vaccinated foreign tourists without quarantine from October 1st.
