A scene of utter carnage faced Khiansa police, firemen and rescue services in Surat Thani in southern Thailand yesterday after a collision and resulting fire left three dead and one injured.

Daily News called it "theung khaat" - when your number's up, it's up.

Two trucks carrying wood had stopped on Route 44, the road to Krabi from Surat Thani.

The lead driver had got out to discuss the way with the second driver when a truck carrying car tires plowed into the back.

It took fire services an hour to get the blaze under control.

Rittipong, 21, a passenger in the tire truck, and Wirawat, 47, an 18 wheeler driver, were dead at the scene. Decha, 44, a driver of one of the timber trucks died on the way to hospital.

Pornphiphat, 58, the driver of the tire truck was injured and now is in police custody in hospital.

He managed to flee his cab in time.

That is so annoying and so pathetic........utter rubbish........it leads to unnecessary deaths and the deaths of innocents.

Well guess no need for another cremation looking at that inferno.

Nightmare...........hopefully they were not conscious

Lets hope not, it must be a horrible way to die even for a minute if you are conscious. RIP to the deceased but it will happen over and over again unfortunately.

Watched a program on aircraft fires and the interviewer said ....but in a fire so fierce they must be unconscious in seconds......the scientist (assuming he knew what he was talking about) said no.......conscious for up to 90 seconds....and those 90 seconds would last a lifetime....switched off at that point.

Horrible

6,000 died on Thailand's roads in 2020.

1,400 died from COVID in 18 months.

Priorities?

Priority?.....a contagious disease that is mutating and could yet kill thousands (and may well have done without the previous steps taken)...........that is my guess.

Car crashes are not contagious......although I would wholeheartedly support action to reduce their numbers.
