webfact
COVID test documents presented by domestic travellers arriving in Phuket via the airport will be accepted up to seven days after they are issued. Photo: AoT Phuket The Phuket News PHUKET: Phuket Vice Governor Piyapong Choowong has confirmed to The Phuket News that there is no three-day limit on COVID tests being accepted in order for domestic travellers to be able to enter Phuket by flight. The clarification follows the Phuket office of the Public Relations Department (PR Phuket) confirming through its official Facebook page to Thais, in Thai language, that people arriving in Phuket by air must present proof of testing negative for COVID-19 with the test results issued no more than three days before the day the passenger boarded a flight for Phuket. Administrators on the PR Phuket Facebook page did maintain that the requirements for domestic travellers arriving in Phuket by land had not changed. The test documents were still deemed valid for up to seven days. Popular Post impulse
That's just dumb, and liable to end in tragedy. Even 3 days is inadequate unless they test them again when they land, and keep them away from the population until the test comes back negative. Same as foreigners entering the Sandbox. How to change the Sandbox into a Dirtbox in one easy step. Dormant period is 7 Days, so a test 4 Days before could well be a positive, and unless tested on Day 8 will go un noticed. Lord help them, for they know nothing of what they do.
Espanol
So fully vaccinated tourist arriving to Phuket from safe countries must have PCR Covid test just 3 days before. However, tourists entering to Phuket from highly infected Bangkok only need to do a quick test 7 days before. 1
Caldera
A 7 days old Covid test is essentially meaningless. I hope that won't end in tragedy! 2

Thais "clean." Foreigners "dirty." That's all you need to know. Just ask Anutin. 1 1

The weakest link in this model is the volume of in-and-out traffic domestically. Domestic traffic are the least vaccinated, the least tested, and pose the most risk to double vaccinated tourists. The international tourists pose the least risk and are the most tested. However, when Thais get sick who have visited (or work on) Phuket, it will be blamed on foreign tourists. Guaranteed.

More like Thais: "They vote, they protest, and they influence others- we'll appease them". Foreigners: "Not so much"

Farang tourists have to jump thru hoops to gain entry but it's okay for Somchai to show a week old PCR test. I'm guessing that the Sarasin Bridge will be another weak point due to inadequate staffing/policing. Easy access for Thais, especially Somchai driving his Lambo, who would dare stop the self entitled plick... This is putting "sandbox" at risk. Just a matter of time.
