Be prepared - Alcohol ban on Saturday and Sunday

Just stock up in time. Asahana Bucha day is on Saturday, July 24th. And on Sunday, July 25th is the start of Buddhist Lent.

Ah the freedom of being able to take it or leave it and not care one way or the other.
"Wanna beer?"
Sure!
"Special no beer day today."
I'll take a coke.

Easy breezy.

Every sale is forbidden - also in shops. So if Saturday or Sunday is your big shopping day then take this into account.

Saturday and Sunday is everyone else's big shopping days.
I find Tuesday mornings to be pretty much dead where we shop, soooo, less contact with the Covid zombies.  No beer in the house.  Then it's coffee.  But honestly - if I really want a beer?  I can find a half a dozen mom and pop stores within 5km that will sell me beer any time or day of the week.  Welcome to rural Thailand.  But coffee's just fine.

just when those too dumb to stock up need it most

Mass death pandemic, lockdowns, nonstop rain, and two Buddha days

Should be the most exciting weekend of the year.

I thought the ban was Saturday and Monday

Hate stocking up as I drink double and run out usually

Start of Buddhist lent is usually the most strict one too, where a lot of mama papa shops won't sell it or close their shop

I hope a news article is made on here to make more people aware. Could be a horrible weekend for those that don't know...

Me too, last week I googled Thailand dry holidays 2021 and the first website quoted Sat 24 and Mon 26 as no alcohol days.

God bless Mom and Pop

I have no doubt my local ma&pop shop will deliver my beer tonight as usual.
