Visa exempt extension question

Recommended Posts

I just entered Thailand on visa exempt entry. Currently in quarantine hotel, day 1. I'm in Bangkok and will need to do an extension of stay when I get out. Can anyone give me a few words on how that works? Do I have to go to chaeng wattana immigration? I will try to organize a teaching job while I'm in quarantine.

You would apply for the 30 day extension at the temporary office at Muang Thong Thani.

You can apply for it during the last couple of weeks of your 45 day permit to stay.

You will need a TM30 report done for where you are staying to apply.

You will need a completed TM7 form with a 4 X 6 cm photo attached, copies of your passport photo page, arrival stamp and TM6 departure card. The fee is 1900 baht.

OP, keep in mind that after you obtain your 'standard' 30 day extension to your visa exempt entry, that you will be able to obtain 60 day covid extensions. That will give you more time to find a teaching job if needed.

Great. Thank you gentlemen.

Since you are Visa Exempt, be sure that you DO NOT go to the main immigration govt complex at Chaeng Wattana.

Instead, immigration has set up a separate facility for us who arrived on "short-term" visas. Here's the map location:   https://goo.gl/maps/16f34LnGB6jgijwR9
