According to the Pagasa’s forecast issued at 4 a.m., the southwest monsoon continues, and will affect Metro Manila, Abra, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, and Batangas, where cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected. The rest of Luzon, meanwhile, may be affected by localized thunderstorms. “Luzon, particularly Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol region and Palawan will experience localized thunderstorms,” Pagasa weather specialist Meno Mendoza said. Fair weather is also expected in the Visayas and Mindanao, although isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms may occur. No weather disturbance will affect the country in the next two to three days, according to Mendoza. “In the next two to three days, we don’t see any weather disturbance that could affect PAR, but the southwest monsoon will continue to affect our weather,” he said. Meanwhile, the two tropical cyclones outside PAR – Typhoon In-fa, formerly Fabian, and Tropical storm Nepartak no longer have direct impact on the country’s weather, according to Mendoza.
