Featured Replies

With a daily death toll of double digit, Cambodia’s COVID-19 death total death is delivering a devastating blow to the country’s concerted efforts in reigning in the fatal pandemic. Cambodia registered  29 new deaths, bringing the death toll to  1,283 in a period of just over 18 weeks.

The first death was recorded on March 11 and since then the toll has risen steadily to 1,283 till Saturday and many believe that the high death toll compared to neighbours like Vietnam which has got more cases is worrisome but yet, understandable given the possibility of the Delta and Delta Plus variants wrecking havoc.

The specific death tally of each province is unavailable as the Ministry has refrained from providing this info but besides Phnom Penh which has the highest number of deaths, other provinces like Kampot, Sihanoukville, Prey Veng, Kampong Cham, Siem Reap have all registered double digit death rates.
