The MedPark hospital in the Klong Toey area of Bangkok has announced that it is vaccinating foreigners against Covid-19.

A special evening program started yesterday and continues from 6 pm to 10 pm until next Monday, August 9th.

This is for foreigners living in Thailand aged over 60 or with serious health conditions such as cancer, diabetes, kidney issues, heart problems and obesity.

Registration must be made first on the Thailandintervac site.

Dr Pongpat Pathanwichai said this was in response to the continuing Covid crisis particularly in Bangkok and is under the hospital's "Going the Extra Mile, Extra Hours" plan.

Thais will continue to get their jabs during the day and will be unaffected .

The doctor stressed that this is part of the government's vaccine rollout.

There are other places apart from Bangkok.

Bangkok the center of the universe.

AZ presumably.

They start Pfizer on the 10th, maybe the 11th, also in the evenings.

True...but the most densely populated and the epicenter of the current infection wave ...makes sense to first hit that area. Given unlimited vaccine supplies situation would be different

An evening performance - sounds like the theatre (no not an operating theatre).

What you say is correct however on the other hand it would be silly to have outsiders (like myself) travel into Bangkok, additionally while only treating people in BKK the rest of the country is producing more & more cases.

No argument there. The cases in the provinces were by and large brought from Bangkok with their ill conceived Songgkran travel encouragement and people still slipping out of Bangkok daily.

I'm sure you'll get a sick note from them so you can show the police for violating 9pm curfew on your return home

Registered two days ago, acknowledged day after, tomorrow there

The covid issue is getting way out of hand, did not want BKK site ,but events moving too fast to wait for vaccine

Waiting to see a similar program in Chiang Mai with the vax donated from the UK.

Then I woke up!

you can drive to bangkok and after vax stay in nearby hotel.

but whats is surprising in this announcement they don't mention pfizer, which suppose to be offered at this hospital from 10th august.

Some people made already appointment for it.

Now they are saying their special treatment for foreigners is ending on 9th.

That pretty much sounds, as there won''t be pfizer and they were just teasing patients into registering with them, getting themselves known, collecting contact data. That's might be as false advertising done by a commercial enterprise.

I have registered with them for pfizer. But after ten minutes I have received email, that I don't qualify (yes, I am under 60 without underlying, but in dark red).

Register on expatvac ASAP, they (DCA) have committed to vaccinating foreigners in ALL locales.

Less writing, more registering.

My read on this is different than yours.

In an attempt to get more vaccinations administered they are working extra hours through 9 August.

That's it. Simple really.

Everything else, including comments made by me, is conjecture.

After 9 August? Assume they're continuing to administer AZ during the day.

my point was about pfizer from 10th and also in the evenings

Are you aware that website has no provision for people on Tourist visas/with Covid extensions?

My friend was unable to register due to no provision for those on Tourist visa. This was confirmed in a statement by MOFA and posted by Richard Barrow. Their priority is foreign residents. Unbelievable!
