stu_$
well i have been to one dentist already in silom, he was ok but one of those guys that wants you to have your mouth open for 20 minutes at a time eventually i had to tap him on the leg to giv me a breather ! the dentist here do the same great work as aussie dentist's but at half the price...they all have laser beams and hi tech office so why cant i find some one with gas (nitrous) ? i'm hoping somebody else has had this gas, cause once you have had it you will always prefer it, not only is it anaesthetic, it in effect compresses time as my doc in subiaco told me it affects the brains ability to process time so a 3 hour stint in the chair feels like 10 minutes ( i kid you not) so, have you seen a clinic with it ? or is the hospital the only likely solution ? thanks in advance stu_$
piet pompies
Depends what you need to have done. The Dental Hospital in Suk Soi 49 is a good start. Also Samitivej Hospital Soi 49 has a dental section, Bumungrad too. Even with gas you will still need local anaesthetic unless it is aroutine cleaning. stu_$
yes, that is true...but i do need a fair bit done, as i'm not much of a drinker i go pretty heavy on the coke, and just about anything sweet ! thats probably why i like thailand so much ,(so many honeys! ) anyhoo, any dentist around that have gas ? , it just makes the experience seem quicker, IMHO its a better feelin than being drunk or high , second only to boom boom i reckon ! stu_$

Trevor
No-one uses gas these days. My one and only experience was quite horrifying -- never again. To make needle insertion into the gum less painful, ask the dentist to apply topical anaesthetic to the gum first, then wait a few minutes. Also take some oral painkillers -- prescription strength if you can get them -- 40 minutes before treatment. Paracetamol-codeine or Tramadol are fine. I recommend www.thantakit.com in their new building (green sign in English) on New Petchburi Road, opposite Amari Atrium hotel and Italthai building.
