USA visitor visa

Hi, ds160 ,B1/B2 app that my thai wife is applying for ask  for

US contacts 

Since I'm making the ds-160 B1/B2 visa app for my Thai wife  I chose to use my American daughter for a contact.  The visa rules are vague   as to  whether  a step daughter is a relative when filing for a B1/B2.

It gives my wife a few options to use ,such as ,is this person in the US a 

relative, spouse, friend ,other ?

Which one do i use ,relative or other ?

Also I will be making a app for my wife's daughter too.

What relationship is my wife's daughter to my daughter in the states . relative, friend or other ?
