ASEAN NOW Content Team
The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) keeps track of military executions in the country. According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), a human rights organisation that keeps track of deaths by Myanmar's security forces, more than 1,000 civilians have been slain since the February 1 coup. According to the group, 1,006 individuals have been slain since the military overthrew Aung San Suu Kyi's elected administration, sparking widespread protests and a mass civil disobedience movement. A spokesman for Myanmar's military did not respond to a request for comment from the Reuters news agency. Military officials previously stated that the AAPP estimates, which have been regularly quoted by foreign organisations, are overstated. Hundreds of members of the security forces have also been killed, according to the army. They are not included in the AAPP's count.
