I hope to get a visa based on me having Thai children (full and sole custody) the UK embassy website info refers to financial requirements but doesn't seem to say what they are, can anyone help?

Since they do mention amount that would be at least the equivalent of at least 20k baht that is required for all visa applications.

How to Obtain a Retirement Visa in Thailand:

STEP 1: OBTAIN A NON-IMMIGRANT “O” VISA
Requirements:

• Passport (at least one year remaining before expiration)
• You must be holding nationality or permanent residence of the country of application
• Proof of Funds

STEP 2: OBTAIN A ONE-YEAR RETIREMENT VISA EXTENSION
Requirements:

• Must be 50 years old and above
• Passport (signed copies of each page)
• Non-Immigrant O  Visa
• Departure Card TM.6
• Proof of meeting Financial Requirements
• Thai Bank Book (original)
• Letter from your Thai Bank
• Three(3) 4×5 cm photos, with full face taken

That's 20k per month? But where did you get your info?

Thanks, very useful but still no mention of what funds?

That is all you need to show in the bank when you apply for single entry non-o visa for being the parent of a Thai at the embassy. As I wrote that is the standard amount for applying for any visa.

When you apply for a one year extension of stay here at immigration you will need to prove 400k baht in a Thai bank or proof of 40k baht income.

Wow, that's a massive difference. So do you know if I can apply for a non-o-visa at the moment at the UK Thai embassy to save me all the running around in LOS?

You can apply for a single entry non-o visa at the Thai embassy in London. The application will be submitted online.

Any Visa?

It's £10,000 for the Non O based on retirement.
It's £20,000 for the Non O-A based on retirement.

 

Otherwise I agree with the rest of your information based on Non O Thai family.

I guess I should of written some visas.

That is certainly all that is required for a non-o visa based upon marriage or being the parent of a Thai (at most embassies and consulates) and tourist visas.
