Daily News went to investigate after the nephew of a man who died from Covid went online to say how letters from the Ministry of Public Health compounded the family's grief.

Thirty six year old Tong's uncle aged 66 died from the virus on July 31st.

The whole family were infected and had no time what with hospital stays to look at the mail.

On the 19th of August the Nonthaburi health department contacted his uncle - now dead - to say he should not miss his vaccination date on the 28th.

After this they got a second letter in the same vein saying that the vaccination was now scheduled for September 13th.

His uncle was, of course, still very much dead.

Tong took the opportunity to speak of how the letters had dragged up all the feelings of grief and reminded him of Thailand's slow vaccine rollout and why he had had enough of his own country.

Age plus health defects was most  not going to make it vax or no. ????

The fact they do not know who has died of covid gives me little faith their covid death figures are correct

Sure any proof for that ? Vaccines have been really good at preventing deaths. Maybe some more antivax nonsense that you try to peddle.

Every rare story like this will be blown out of proportion by fearmongering media. While we never hear of millions who got infected, and keep living their lives after a completely natural recovery in a week of sneezing and coughing, and many went almost asymptomatic. No fanfares, nothing. Crickets.

Just a very simple case of the Ministry Of Health database system not knowing he was dead. Sure it has been slow but they got him on the list eventually. Albeit too late.

Much the same as being reminded on Facebook to wish someone Happy Birthday, who snuffed it years ago.

A non event, not specific to Thailand or Covid. This has happened everywhere in the world whether it is to do with Taxes, payment of any kinds, death certificates...

I understand that this can come as a shock to the siblings but ,,,really? make it to the headlines ?

As this truer than ever, worldwide. We have been conditioned - by authorities, the science and the ever obedient media - to absorb the invented heaviness and negativity that they push and want us to dwell on. No - we're not dropping like flies.

Remembering, that the recovery and asymptomatic ratio, after a year-n-a-half of surges/waves/variants, is still at a healthy 98.5 percentile so far. And we're talking about billions of so called infected to date.

Appears to me, et al, from simple observations, research and studious understanding that the great COVID boogieman, and it's mutated cousins, is not living up to the hyper-propaganda that many circles wish to promote.

Indeed, whatever defects at that age he'd still have had a fighting chance if vaxxed. Unvaxxed not much.

What in the whole wide world are you trying to say?

This kind of thing happens when somebody dies, anywhere.

The guy should get an urn, and show up at the health department, to show them the notices and

say, do you want to put the vaccine into the urn?  Maybe they people there would get the message to the

proper place and the relatives could maybe get an apology letter.

4.5 million dead people worldwide would love to be alive to discuss the "obedient media"  and how covid dangers are "hyper-propaganda" but unfortunately they didn't get a chance to read your view before they died.

Next  story reads dead parents never  received  vaccine notification at  all, I  agree  with you, its a no   win situation for  any govt

I constantly get reminders of one sort or another about my son who was killed in Iraq 16 years ago, my brother who died from ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) two years ago and my Mom who died 3 months ago.  It's part of life.

He was most likely not going to make it, taking the vax or not, due to his age and health
