webfact
Picture: Daily News Daily News reported that they were contacted by the abbot of Wat Theraplai in Suphanburi Phra Khru Phisutthirattanaporn who told them that they would be holding a cremation ceremony today for a father and his son who died on the same day from Covid-19. The father was 77 and the son, who weighed 130 kilos, was 49. The media reported that this temple was known for providing free coffins and services for the poor over the last ten years and recently offered this to those who had died from the virus. Help was sought from the local authority and health officials in arranging the funeral, said the abbot. He took the opportunity to appeal for donations from the Buddhist faithful so that those in need could receive an appropriate send-off. The media gave a phone number so that people could "tham bun" or make merit in this way. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2021-09-21 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates
