Live close to this hospital and have small infection, so decided to check it out. Kinda like you wanna try a new restaurant.

After a small chat a doctor I was presented with a bill.

1000b doctor fee

350b administration fee

140b nurse fee

Are these fees normal these days because I remember bumrungrad being cheaper

Your main issue is....did the Doctor sort the problem out or not....not could I have paid less elsewhere?

I am pretty sure the 200 baht clinic would have sorted the issue as it's nothing complicated. Nothing to do with question asked which is how much other hospitals charge for seeing a doctor.

Ask at a good pharmacy, free and the medication is far cheaper, all that Rama iV hospital stuff has to be paid for!

Yes. The private hospitals for a long time are charging this way.

At private hospital, doctor fees vary with the doctor. at Bumrungrad I see anything from 800 to 2000+ baht with the higher end being prominent specialists.

Admin and "nursing" fees are hospital specific and some hospitals assess one or the other but not both, and some hospitals refer to it as "other hospital charges". Usually 200 - 300 baht so 350 + 140 (490 baht) is higher than most places.

All right, so quite normal then. Been some time since I went to a "hiso" hospital. Yes I never saw 2 charges separate like this. Is it possible they charge for registration?

For registration as written no, never seen that but probably its covered under that administration charge.

Hospital dentists have a long itemised list that make up the bill now.

It is  unusual to have two separate charges like this and I cannot explain it. You would need to ask what the "nurse fee" is and how it differs from the "admin fee".

you got lucky as you didn't mention the BP & weight fee, the accessories fee and the walk in fee, I got all of it just to check on painfull pimple located at the wrong place, it turned out to be an ingrown hair  555
