Hi looking for recommendations for a reputable but fairly priced visa company in Phuket to help me with a volunteer visa can anyone recommend someone they've used 

OP, sorry can't advise at all as never dealt with Phuket. 

Just a suggestion. Perhaps  if you post in local forums (Phuket) you might receive some local info.

Apparently the price has gone up a lot, don't know why.

Assume that you entered Thailand visa exempt or tourist visa and under 50.

So, price did really go up on October 1st as agents had indicated it would happen?

It would seem so. 

Back in amnesty times the non O volunteering + extension was popular. All pre covid extensions.

Seems to have gone up by 15k.

No idea why. 

The OP can speak with agents in Phuket. Personally I'm not familiar.
