Foreign Tourist reported missing in Bokor National Park

An extensive search is ongoing for a foreign national who has been reported missing in Bokor National Park since 3pm on October the 12th. The  tourist, who is understood to be a Chinese male, made a distress call to emergency services at around 3pm yesterday. In the call, the tourist stated that he had become lost after walking in the mountains.

 

Unfortunately, the mobile telephone he used to make the emergency call soon ran out of power – hampering rescue efforts. After the emergency rescue team learned about the situation, they sent a team of  6 people and arrived at the scene at 5 pm on the 12th. The emergency rescue team searched a radius of one km, but but had no success in locating the missing tourist.

 

At 8:40pm the team abandoned their efforts for the night and resumed the search at  7:40 am the next day. However, as of 11.20am today, the missing tourist has not been located.
