Man succumbs to grievous injuries after car was hit by a train

A man whose car was rammed by a train died in the hospital where he was receiving emergency treatment. The accident happened at 6 am on October 13, on the railway crossing National Road 4 near Veal Renh town between km. 181-182 in Samrong Krom Village, Samrong Commune, Prey Nob District, Preah Sihanouk.

 

According to police report, the incident happened between a car with the license plate number Phnom Penh 2T-4730 and a train. The car was travelling from Preah Sihanouk to Phnom Penh and the train was travelling in towards the same destination.

 

The driver of the car was Chhin Sokchea, a 31-year-old male, who is from Tuol Toteung 1 Village, Tuol Toteung Commune, Prey Nob District, Preah Sihanouk. He was seriously injured in the crash. The train continued to move froward and came to a halt at a location about 2 km away from the crash scene. Immediately after the accident, Sokchea was admitted to Veal Renh Private Clinic. His injuries were extremely severe and he died at the clinic.
