Anyone have any information about the availability and price of an electric Tuk Tuk ? Better still anyone already have one and share some feedback ?

I've spent some Googling time and while there seem to be a couple of companies that supply, build or convert Tuk Tuk's can't find any mention of availability or price.

Thanks

400k for a tuk tuk, so I didn't research much further.

might be able to pull some info links off of these:

With any of them, need to consider if you can register them for the road....legally.  Don't need to give PoPo a reason to stop me all the time.

I equate all the EVs on sale at Makro and elsewhere, that I've seen, to golf carts.  Some, most, small e-bikes, stand up on scooters (some w/seats), 3 wheel 'mobility' bikes, or larger mobility looking, with a 'work' bed, but wouldn't consider driving on the road.   Have seen a few locals doing so, but would a farang attract attention and a citation.  Nice to have around the house w/land for yardwork.

Curious myself what the actually law states, 250w or 350w not needing registration, as starting to see quite a few of the e-bikes (not bicycle frames) around town, some quite nice and cruising at a decent speed.

Saw one well priced on LAZ, stating 450w motor, and 20 or 40Ah battery.  If accurate and quality, would be a major step up for the < 10k variety of.  Listing now gone, was priced at 7k w/good reviews.

May pop into the local BIB office to inquire actual law, and enforcement, if any, locally.   Not a major metro where I live, and they seem to be very lax on enforcement of traffic laws, and surprisingly, most DO drive legally here, except that helmet law, which is rarely enforced, but do check points occasionally.

Thank for your replies and links.

The https://motortrivia.com/2021/08/mini-ev-tuk-tuk-news-9-8-2564/ looks promising with the type of Tuk-Tuk I'd like and with a price range of  60,000-300,000 baht could be an affordable possibility.

I hear what you are saying about registration, and does seem there is some progress towards making them street legal to some of us ordinary folk.

Found picture of one with white plates so seems possible:-

Would never risk using one between Karon and Patong or vice-verca. May get asked to push the darned thing to a mains socket.

The idea of an electric Tuk-Tuk is as a replacement for our old Fino shopping bike and wouldn't do more than a few kilcks around town, well within range of any of the models.

The bike is over 10 years old and still going strong but the kids are getting to the age where they want to "borrow the bike dad" and a Tuk-Tuk would be safer than a motorbike.

A Tuk-Tuk maybe not the "coolest" image for the kids but at least they would be a bit safer than on a motorbike and not much chance of becoming 'Girl Racers" Or should that be "Gender Neutral Racers"

Anyway see what happens in the next few months.
