I am not up to date with all the latest restaurants, but I do know that the Oriental Hotel is good enough for anybody....the Normandie is a superb restaurant with wonderful service. I would recommend an overnight stay in the hotel to top it off.

Well, difficult to make a recommendation which finally involves taste.

Anyway, quite nice is the CHESA, a Swiss place in Sukh Soi 20, BKK.

Nice fondues, cheese, beef, or chinoise. Good Swiss wines.

Bit of candle light.

I don't give you a phone number but they advertise in the newspapers and tourist mags. Or just go there, opposite Windsor suites, can't miss it.

Thomas and/or Renee, the two owners are usually there, to help or cook for you.

Keep some space for the desserts, like mousse etc.

Don''t go on the 5th, they celebrate 4th anniversary that day, by inivitation, only.

Thanks for the suggestions.

The Diners now say they would prefer an

Independant Thai Restaurant

so alleypanda's suggestions

are much appreciated.

The visit will actually be in October !!

so if anybody else has suggestions in the meantime

they also would be welcome

Roger

I highly recommend...

1. Baan Kanitha: 2 locations - Sukhumvit Soi 23 (Asok Station), Soi Ruamrudee (Ploenchit Station)

--offers Thai food with excellent service

--Thai-style house

2. Curries and More: Soi Ruamrudee (near Baan Kanitha because the same owner)

--offers Thai food (like in Bann Kanitha) and International food with excellent service as well

--Modern style restaurant: I prefer this restaurant because of the relaxing atmosphere.

--Don't miss the desserts --really good! Homemade ice cream, crepe and cakes!

Enjoy!
