The Ministry of Social Affairs has reiterated its commitment to meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of eliminating violence against children globally by 2030. Ministry spokesman Touch Channy told Khmer Times yesterday that this was conveyed during a virtual meeting between the ministry and UNICEF Cambodia officials on Tuesday.

He said the ministry will take steps to ban all forms of violence by strengthening child protection data and to enable parents and caregivers to keep children safe. “Making schools safe, non-violent and inclusive is one of the prioritised policies set by the ministry,” Channy said.
