The ministry of Justice continues to create safety measures

By Hua Hin Today

The ministry of Justice continues to create safety measures for communities and society from those who have been acquitted of serious crimes.

Last month, the head of the Justice and Legal Affairs Group at the Office of 1ustice, Mr. Piyachat Haikong, revealed the initiative of supervising serious offenders by driving the actions of the 1oint Special Operations Command, (1SOC). The plan is to track inmates who are about to be released from prison who were convicted of seven types of serious crime! Rape or murder of a child, psychotic murder, serial murder, robbery and murder, mass murder, and major drug dealing cases.

The aim is to prevent those who have been detained from returning to commit the same crime again by bringing in the public sector, such as probation volunteers and volunteers in the areas involved, to take part in surveillance, this is considered an important factor to see these prisoners who have previously had terrible behaviour to return to normal life.

This is totally inaccurate! If someone is acquitted of a crime, it means they are not guilty and hence will have no punishment including "tagging"!

The article refers to convicted serious offenders about to be released from custody, back into the community, and the ways in which the public sector can help in preventing re-offending.

Probably not.

But they do offer a wide variety of fashionable models for resident Farang - keeping track of us and our every move for the betterment of Thai society.
