Thailand aims to become an international hub for the production and export of herbal products and cannabis/hemp-based medicines, to boost revenues for farmers and the country, said Deputy Government Spokesperson Dr. Rachada Dhnadirek on Sunday.

To achieve this ambitious target, the Ministry of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives has already launched a project for the mass cultivation of herbal plants in 37 plots, covering 1,269 hectares in 22 provinces and involving over 1,500 growers. Herbal plants will also be grown in over 8,000 hectares of land belonging to farmers’ cooperatives and community enterprise groups.

It has been agreed by the farmers and state agencies that the harvested herbal plants will be processed at the nearest production facilities, such as the Chaophraya Abhaibhubejhr, Pana, and Trakarn Puetphon hospitals.

Thailand: the hub of hubs!

Hub of getting high to get by...

Thailand

The hub of stupid grand plans.

Send all the stuff they can't use to me...gladly take their "industrial waste".

Marijuana is a drug, and it's highly over-rated.  It grows wild or easily indoors, and is cheap to produce.

We legalized marijuana here and do you know what the net result is?  Literally nothing.  IN particular, tourism hasn't done a damned thing as expected.

People who go on holidays to get high is really pathetic, sad.  Nay, people who predict tourism will rebound because of remedies such as this is just as sad.

If you must get wasted to travel, go to Peru and get wasted there.  It's popular with .00001 percent of the population.

I thought fake news and torture was banned?

Why are we subjected to this rubbish?

I thought the idea was that every Thai citizen could grow in their own garden?

Now it appears the entire cultivation is in the hands of 37 corporations.

It's a total disgrace, millions of poor Thai farmers should be benefiting from this.

Not the usual fat cats associated with MPs.
