ray richards
I arrive in Thailand 1st Dec with a 60 days tourist visa. Does anyone know if I can convert this visa into a STV whilst I'm in Thailand at a local immigration office, it will get me an extra 60 days stay or if I can't convert can I extend 30 days & then another 30 days. DrJack54
Cannot obtain STV in Thailand. Your SETV can be extended once by 30 days. Hopefully with 60+30 taking you till end Feb there might be a border open. If that happens you can border bounce and reenter visa exempt. That can be extended. Or go to a Thai consulate. Cambodia for example and obtain another tourist visa. That can also be extended once by 30 days. Are you 50+ years of age?. ray richards
Yes Dr jack 54. I'm 70yr old. I've heard about the retirement visa but I don't want to stay in Thailand more than probably 4 months so that mean I would need an exit permit to go back to the UK for 8 months. I've been visiting Thailand for 20 yrs for a 4 months stay & until the Covid situation it was easy.
