Senior US official emphasises that President Joe Biden ready to meet with PM Hun Sen in the ASEAN-US Summit in February 2022

Mr Derek Chollet, Advisor to the United States Department of State, emphasised that President Joe Biden is preparing for a summit with Prime Minister Techo Hun Sen in the ASEAN-US framework summit in February 2022. The senior US official said this during a meeting with HE Prak Sokhon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

As a result of the meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Sokhon, and Mr Derek CHOLLET, Advisor to the United States Department of State, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed Cambodia’s readiness to assume the ASEAN Chairmanship and highlighted its priorities, especially the three pillars of the ASEAN Community.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the theme “ASEAN works together: solve all challenges together” is an effort to promote the spirit of ASEAN as a united family with a high will of “all together” to maintain Peace and prosperity in the region and the world.
