Hi all, I’m going to need to buy a cholesterol reducing tablet called ‘Atorvostatin’ this is a prescription item for me in the Uk, understandably they are not going to send it to Thailand for me so I need to be able to buy it over the counter, anywhere in Khon Kaen or nearby that sells it? And how much?
many thanks for any help

You’ve probably tried.... once I coughed up and gagged 12,000 baht at hospital  for heart related medicine..... before I refilled again asked Hospital pharmacy about generic... said they don’t stock generic but can be ordered. ...  ... learned lesson bought all but 1 (hospital only) from local pharmacy.. overall saved 11,000 every 3 months.. ..  same pharmacy for 6 years.. very knowledgeable.. speaks

enough English ..

My UK GP will not prescribe more than 2 mths medication (not yours) when I come to winter in Thailand, but he gives me a private prescription free of charge for any amount I require for the time I am in Thailand. Then I buy it from my pharmacy. It is so cheap that Im actually happy to pay for it all year round to save the NHS money. I dont know if u return anytime to the UK. If so this could be an option for u while u r there.

Just seen your post so sorry for the delayed response, I went to see the local pharmacist (who has been really helpful he sorted out my Pfizer booster at the local hospital) nearly all the meds i use for Type 2 & Controlled high BP i can get the Thai equivalent to the European manufactured meds with the exception of Atorvastatin which he had to order the Sandoz European manufactured tablets i think they were about 2500 baht for 30, the only other meds he couldn't get locally (and my diabetic specialist in the UK agreed) was my insulin and Ozempic the once weekly injection

Hope you got sorted OK
