According to the forest chief, people who illegally logged and encroached on the community forest in one of Stung Treng's districts would face legal action.

Officials from the Forestry Administration are pursuing loggers who have encroached on the territory of the Chheuteal Prus community forest in Chamkar Leu Commune, Thala Borivat District, Stung Treng.

On the morning of December 21, Va Sokha, the Director of Thala Parivat District's Forestry Administration, told local reporters that he and other relevant officials are investigating a claimed encroachment. The community informed officials that illegal loggers had encroached on many hectares of land.

According to the Director, the Chheuteal Prus community forest is a hotspot for encroachment and logging.

The forestry commission of the district is currently investigating the situation and attempting to apprehend those responsible for the illegal forest cutting.
