I must be doing something wrong because my Thai tax refund takes a ridiculously long time.   I filed my 2020 return around January 4th, 2021 and just received my refund in December.

I read Thai at a first grade level and am incapable of filling out the return myself so the guy at the desk at Jomtien Revenue office helps me fill it out.   It seems that no refund ever arrives in the mail and I make repeated visits to the 4th floor to try to sort things out.  The last two years they physically handed me the coupon to deposit in my Krungthai account.

Is there a way that my refund can be direct deposited to one of my other accounts and if so what line of the tax return would that be on?

Is this a full tax return or reclaiming tax on bank interest?

If the former sorry but no idea.

For the latter, in answer to your question, not that I am aware. They changed the refunds from a cheque about 3 years ago to one of 3 options -

From memory - Prompt pay, pay into a KT account or use a KT e-money card - which you can then immediately cash out at their ATM.

All are funded from the bar code normally on the letter informing you of the refund.

That's my only Thai income.

Thanks TopT.   So it seems I still need to receive the letter which I never wind up receiving and make multiple trips to the Revenue Office before I get some coupon which I bring to KT Bank and put on my moneycard.

I must be doing something wrong that my tax return seems to get flagged for a delay every year.

I have had to go to the 4th floor several times in recent years due to one thing or another - the guy at the desk downstairs does not seem to worry if all the info is not there - or hasn't in the past. I then eventually received the letter in the post as normal. I think last year I rang and was told delayed and it turned up a few weeks later.

Minor thing but have you checked they have the right address on all the documents?

It's possible that my bank had my old address.

It's also possible that that there could have been a mismatch because perhaps one document might have the condo office address and the other my specific address.

So thanks for the input TopT as I will check and see which address my bank has and make sure to file the form with the same address.
