Popular Post webfact
The mysterious unmanned ship, which was found floating in the Gulf of Thailand about 100 miles off the coast of Songkhla province, sank on Saturday night, despite attempts by the Royal Thai Navy to save it. Rear Admiral Surasak Pratarnvorapanya, director of the second fleet’s Centre for the Protection of Marine Interests, said today (Sunday) that the vessel could not be towed to the shore due to the rough seas and that it continued to take on water through the several holes on its hull. The abandoned vessel finally sank about 28 nautical miles off the coast of Si Chon district of Nakhon Si Thammarat province, he added. Cake Monster
It seems the owners of the Ship are unknown, although its name appears to be of Chinese origin, and a look on Lyods registry should tell them

Stargeezr
That ship looks like it was stripped and towed to the area where it was sighted. How many ships do you know that do not have anchor cables and anchors, and look at how the interior looked. It would be interesting to see more pictures from the Royal Thai Navy. It might have been floated a longer distance after being abandoned, the sea current this time of the year is from east. An earlier news article stated that the registration number had been removed, so might be a way for disposal of garbage...???? From the Thai PBS article... The senior naval officer admitted that investigators are still unable to determine the nationality or ownership of the sunken vessel, adding that it might have been decommissioned quite a while ago.
Tug
Hopefully it’s in deep enough water as to pose no hazard to navigation
