djeetyet
It is time to renew my son's US passport. I'd prefer not to take the mother to the US Embassy BKK, and per https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/passports/minor-passport-renew/ I can use form DS-3053 to indicate her consent, and that "A DS-3053 can be notarized by appointment at the U.S. Embassy (free-of-charge), or by a Thai notary public." The form is in English, only. Has anyone used a "Thai notary public"? Does every Ampur office have them? Any other suggestions / comments would be appreciated. digbeth
there's no such thing as government appointed notary public in Thailand most you'll get is some lawyers who certified themselves as notary public by taking a course or seminar so look for a local lawyer
blackcab
I've used this service several times. If you are in Bangkok he will come to your property for a reasonable fee, which is often easier than going to him. The attorney is called Somsan Maisuk. http://www.siamlegalonline.com/ He is registered as a Notarial Services Attorney by the Lawyers Council of Thailand pursuant to the Regulation of the Lawyers Council on Registration of Notarial Services Attorneys B.E. 2551
