Afternoon,

 

my son has been living with his mother in Thailand for a number of years.  He was born in the UK and has a UK birth certificate and passport.

 

I was assured by the mother she obtained Thai citizenship and passport.  However, this is not the case.

 

Is there anyone who could recommend a firm in Thailand who could assist me with obtaining a Thai birth certificate and passport?

You will need to get the UK birth registered at Thai embassy in london first. the link states both parents need to be present,  try emailing, things can change

The mother MUST be Thai for her children to get a Thai citizenship.
